1What are the class Sizes?

Class sizes have strict limits to ensure that each child receives the individual attention they need. Pre – School and Early Learners will have maximum of 10 students. Year 1 to Advance Level classes will have maximum of 15 students.

2 Ability to cope with the placement tests if they have come from a different education system?

We take students' academic background into consideration when we mark entrance tests and assess students based on what they do know, not what they do not. As an international school, we are used to guiding students adjust to our style of teaching and learning process if they have come from a different system.

3 School Uniforms for my child?

• School uniform T-shirts, Uniform Shorts and Socks are available at NICE to be selected according to your child’s size.

• Set of PE uniforms should be bought for Physical Education Sessions.

• If any child prefers trousers/ Skirts, he/she needs to approach the school tailor. His contact details can be obtained from school office.

• You may buy comfortable shoes for the child and running shoes for playground activities.

• Parents need to provide suitable swim suit for your child to be used during swimming sessions.

• Uniforms cannot be returned after purchasing. Parents should make sure to bring their child/children for fit-on at the time or purchasing uniforms.

4 School Books for my child?

• Text Books will be provided by the school free of charge up to Year 8. Students must return these books to the class teacher at the end of the school year.

• Work Books are provided from the school upon payment receipt.

• Respective class teachers will issue all the text books and work books on the commencement date.

5 Stationary Requirements for the academic year?

• Relevant stationary list will be given to the parent during the admission process according to the grade.

• Parents need to make arrangements to buy the given stationaries from outside and need to send with the student when he/she coming to school on the first day.

6 Is there a support system for students who do not speak as their first language?

Yes, we have an excellent ESL programmes from the Primary to the Upper Secondary classes of the school. The need will be decided at the Entrance / Placement Tests.

7 How many terms are there in the academic year?

The academic year starts in first week of September. There are 3 terms in the academic year.

First Term: Starts September (or late August) – Ends mid-December

Second Term: Starts 1st week of January – Ends mid-April

Third Term: Starts end-April – Ends mid-July

8 Can I admit my child mid term?

Yes Mid Term admission is available for all the classes. If a child joins N.I.C.E. in the middle of a term, admission will be completed using a pro-rated term fee and the Admission fee and the relevant school development fee will apply in full.

9 What time does school sessions commence?

All grades except the Pre School will commence the school sessions at 7.45 am. Pre School and Kindergarten classes will commence the school sessions at 8.00 am.

10 How safe is the school for my child?

Student health and safety is paramount to us. The School has an effective Entry/ Exit control system permanently supervised by security guards. The school is also equipped with a CCTV camera system as an additional safety measure

11 Does the school accept applications from Special needs children?

We welcome applications from Special needs children. After the application form has been received, we will arrange for an interview with the Principal and class teacher to assess the suitability of the child and to ascertain whether the individual special needs required by the child fall within what the school can provide for. The school will not consider admission if it is unable to cater to the needs fully.

12 When does the admission procedure start?

General admission procedure for the whole school starts from the beginning of the month June, every year.
